At least 76 people camping in the campgrounds around Caddo and the Little Missouri rivers are still missing in Arkansas. A search and rescue operation is currently underway. All terrain vehicles and horses are being used on the rough terrain to continue the search for these missing campers. At least 16 people have been confirmed dead on Saturday.

The search could last days or weeks before a decision is made to stop. The flash flood swept away tents and knocked over several camper vehicles.

The difficult terrain could be keeping stranded campers from reaching safety. The heavy rain, which caused the flooding, has made leaving the area in vehicles difficult. So far, roughly 24 people have been hospitalized, and about 60 have bee rescued from the area.

The area was not prepared for such a calamity. There is little to no cell phone service, and no warning sirens.
