Some people are calling it, “two steps forward one step back”. The government is trying to pass have health care legislation, but there may or may not be a public option in the legislation, so this issue may not be relevant. But, if there is a public option in the final bill, what will pay for it? Many people are worried that the only way to pay for it is higher taxes. Those that would be affected by the high taxes are mid-to-low-income families. Many families in the United States today are having a hard time dealing with their normal day-to-day finances on top of tax increases.
As of right now, there is limited talk on tax increases. But the question will remain until a few things are decided. There may be ways to cut costs from other programs that the government may find frivolous. Or, medical costs and practices could be changed in order to keep the prices low.
There is a lot of information out there. But we want to ask you this. Do you want a public option? If yes, who do you think should pay for it? If no, what do you think would be a better solution to the current health care legislation?
